Exit

2d: Ed Ruscha | 3d: Wyatt Wellman

"Sometimes found words are the most pure because they have nothing to do with you. I take things as I find them. A lot of these things come from the noise of everyday life."

—Ed Ruscha, cited in: Ed Ruscha, (Ed.), They Called Her Styrene, London 2000

"I have been inspired by Ed Ruscha to recreate his painting, Exit, in three dimensions in Second Life. I wanted as close to a total immersion as possible. If you walk toward the exit sign, you will be in a black "phantom" environment. Go in, view it, let yourself think, or not think. And when you are ready, walk out the same way you came in. Or not. "

— Wyatt Wellman
